Slipknot is well known for its attention-grabbing image, aggressive style of music, and energetic and chaotic live shows. In 2019 Chris Fehn was fired from the band due to a lawsuit of unpaid royalties aimed towards Corey Taylor and Shawn Crahan, he was replaced by Michael Pfaff on percussion and backing vocals. They were eventually joined by Alex Venturella and Jay Weinberg on drums and bass guitar. As of December 2013 the only remaining original member is Shawn Crahan. However, the death of Gray on May 24, 2010, and the departure of Jordison on December 12, 2012, left the band with seven remaining members. After several line-up changes in their early years, the band settled on nine members for more than a decade: Corey Taylor, Mick Thomson, Jim Root, Paul Gray, Craig Jones, Sid Wilson, Shawn Crahan, Chris Fehn and Joey Jordison.
Formed in September 1995, the group was founded by percussionist Shawn Crahan and bassist Paul Gray. Slipknot is an American heavy metal band from Des Moines, Iowa.
